Every grip van and grip truck have extra costs. We do our best to keep these costs minimal and fully transparent.
Yes. We require you to have a certificate of insurance for all bookings listing Mini Grip Van as the loss payee.
Mini Grip Van requires the Producer to obtain $60,000 in Property Insurance Coverage, listing Mini Grip Van as Loss Payee for loss or damage to property rented as well as $2,000,000 in General Liability Coverage, naming Mini Grip Van as an additional insured on your liability insurance.
A Swing (Lighting and Grip Technician) will work as both a Grip and Electric helping out on set where needed in the lighting department.
A Swing is not to be placed in any supervisory role on the day(s) of work. If you choose the Swing Upgrade, and there is no Gaffer on set, the Swing will not perform Gaffer duties unless upgraded to a Gaffer. Please do not upgrade to a Swing if you need a Gaffer.
Gaffer’s duties include:
Mini Grip Van Driver/Swing/Gaffer operates on a Standard 10 hour work day with a 1 hour meal break (10+1). Hours are billed door-to-door, meaning from the time Mini Grip Van employee leaves Home (Travel Start) until Mini Grip Van employee has returned back Home at the end of the work day (Travel End).
Overtime is calculated in 30 minute increments after the 10th hour of work, inclusive of travel time. Overtime rates can be found in the chart below.

The storage system inside of Mini Grip Van was designed to carry the specific equipment that comes with the van. Every inch of space in the van, and every pound of weight in the van is maximized to be as efficient as possible to deliver an incredible product, in a small nimble van.
As a result, Mini Grip Van is not able to pick up any extra gear except the gear it comes with.
If there is a small item you think you may need picked up, please let us know prior to booking and we will see if we can accommodate that request.
The service area for Mini Grip Van is within 100km radius from Regent Park, Toronto.
If you need service outside of this area, please contact us ahead of time.
Mini Grip Van only operates within Canada.
Mini Grip Van will fit in any parking garage with a clearance of at least 6’3″ or 1.9m. You won’t find a Grip Truck or Sprinter Grip Van that’s able do that!
On any shoot that goes longer than 6 hours, production is required to provide lunch/dinner for the Driver/Swing/Gaffer.
